As a boutique design-build firm, we offer a unique renovation experience. Because Nate is the single point of expertise bridging artistic vision, homeowner goals, and practical construction, projects have fewer surprises, smoother coordination, and fewer mid-construction design changes. In addition to designing and managing each project, Nate personally makes all the custom built-ins and specialty carpentry. Woodworking is one of his passions, and you can see that shine in his work.

Rosalie Remodeling creates spaces that transcend ordinary living. Rosalie Remodeling has designed a process that keeps things clearly organized for clients and includes touches that make the design-build experience more enjoyable for homeowners. We prioritize availability; Nate’s regular, clear communication is just one detail that puts homeowners at ease. Nate has kids and pets, and knows how important routines are in a home. He gives clients a weekly schedule and notes days that are more disruptive than others because he understands it’s helpful to know what to expect.
We Start With What’s Most Important to You
By listening and asking questions, Nate learns about your goals and plans for the addition, including how you want to use the space, what is driving the need for it, and what would make the finished project feel like a success. From there, we have an honest conversation about your project scope and a realistic budget. Home additions on the North Shore are significant investments, often running well into six figures depending on the scope. We believe it is better to have that conversation upfront than to invest time and money in design work that does not align with actual construction costs and your budget. Too many homeowners fall in love with a design only to find out later that it is far beyond what they planned to spend. We would rather have that conversation on day one, when it costs nothing to adjust course.
The In-Home Meeting
If Rosalie Remodeling seems like a good fit for your project, Nate will meet with you in your home to learn more about the vision, design preferences, and priorities for your addition. This on-site consultation lets you explore ideas, discuss potential layouts, and identify existing features or site considerations that may shape the final design. He assesses the area where you plan to build the addition, explores options for connecting it to the existing structure, and conducts an initial evaluation of the portion of your lot where the addition will be built. If you are planning to build upward, he will also evaluate the existing structure.
What is the Design Proposal Process?
Nate designs your addition using your wishlist, your planned use of the new spaces, and the scope you want to include in your addition. By listening closely to your feedback, he refines the design until he has drawings that you are completely happy with. He works with our architect to generate the stamped drawings we’ll use when we file for your permit.
Nate helps you pick materials and gets real-time pricing from our material vendors. He walks through the project with our trade partners (plumbers, electricians, and other specialists) to collect all the details and costs of your project. With this information, we are able to generate a Project Summary.
The Project Summary
Rosalie Remodeling prepares a detailed written description of your project. It covers the scope, your material selections, the labor involved, and the fixed price. We’ll sit down and review it together to ensure every detail is included and correct. We use this document as the foundation for our Construction Agreement.
Construction and Daily Communication
After we sign the Construction Agreement, we get to work behind the scenes: we file for permits, schedule trade partners, and order materials so they are on site and ready when needed. Along with your start date, you’ll receive your project’s calendar so you will know what is happening and when. Nate is there daily, and he will keep you informed every step of the way, walking you through progress and answering any questions.
