This vintage bathroom remodeling project needed a lot of TLC to bring it out of the dark wood-paneled doldrums.
First, we mounted the new sink off the floor and replaced the cramped step-in tub with a spacious shower.
Next, we incorporated the window into the shower enclosure and used a stationary glass wall to brighten the room with natural light.
In addition, the glass wall is open on the left side, eliminating the need for a cumbersome shower door or light-blocking shower curtain. The shower turns on and off using a control on the wall as you step in, out of the way of shower spray, and the control under the shower head adjusts the water temperature.
A low-profile medicine cabinet mounted inside the wall is perfect for a small bathroom. Vanity lighting comes from a downward-directed sconce above the mirror. Subway tile keeps things crisp and clean, and the gold details of the light fixture and mirror add extra sparkle.
