Sometimes the reclaimed wood you find when remodeling an older home includes reclaimed wood used in the original construction. So you could say you’re reclaiming the reclaimed wood.
Take, for instance, the floorboards uncovered during the remodeling of a 1920s-era kitchen on Chicago’s North Shore. The red-painted boards called attention to themselves, quite possibly reused wood from an old barn in the area back in the day.
The vintage red boards were given new life in the remodeled entryway, featured in a bench with a seat that flips up for storage.
