A Multi-Room Remodel Brings Your Home Together

Multi-Room Renovations with Rosalie Remodeling

Remodeling multiple spaces at once allows Nate to design the project for continuity, even across disconnected spaces. When designing separate spaces at the same time, Nate incorporates shared elements and touches that create a cohesive, intentional feel and ensure the new space looks organic with the rest of the home. North Shore homes are often older, with layouts built for a different era. Nate has an aptitude for modernizing these spaces for the way we live now, without losing the character of these unique homes.

What To Expect When You Work With Nate

Nate is personally involved in every project as the primary point of contact. Nate designs and customizes each project to fit the homeowner’s unique needs and style. For that reason, we take on a select number of projects at one time to give our clients personalized attention from start to finish. When the walls come down, Nate sometimes uncovers opportunities to make the space work even better. Because he takes the time to understand each client’s home, needs, and style, he can recommend thoughtful improvements that are tailored to you.

When your addition is complete, the work is warrantied for one year. All materials carry their manufacturer's warranties as well. But beyond the formal warranty period, we have gone back and addressed issues at no cost for clients we've built a relationship with. That's not a contractual obligation. It reflects the fact that the families we work with over the course of a months-long project become people we genuinely care about, and we want the work to hold up.

We typically schedule a professional photoshoot after a project is complete. The photography becomes part of our portfolio, and it gives you a lasting record of the transformation.

The Design-Build Process for Multi-Room Renovations

Every Project at Rosalie Remodeling Starts with a Conversation

For multi-room renovations, we start by listening to your project’s goals, timeline, and budget. What are the most important changes you hope to achieve? Are there any special considerations you want your contractor to keep in mind? We’ll answer your questions, discuss our process and availability, and review your budget expectations. Together, we can see if Rosalie Remodeling is a good fit for your project.

Nate Visits Your Home

What follows is an in-person meeting at your home, where you and Nate discuss your project’s goals and options in more detail while standing in the space that will be transformed. This is an opportunity to start discussing ideas and solutions and also for Nate to identify existing features or site considerations to keep in mind during the design process.

The Next Step

If you decide to work with Nate, the next step is a Design Proposal. The Design Proposal is the first phase of every project. Nate documents existing spaces, develops drawings of proposed layouts, walks the site with trade partners, and gathers pricing from material vendors for the project. Nate listens carefully to details and preferences so he can incorporate them into your design. Throughout the design and planning process, Nate offers guidance, answers questions, and presents material options. Clear communication and careful attention to detail ensure a strong foundation before construction begins. Design packages start at $2,000 for straightforward projects that do not require architectural drawings. Pricing varies based on the project’s size, scope, and complexity.

The Project Planning Summary

When the layout, scope of work, and material selections are decided, we present a Project Planning Summary that covers every aspect of your multi-room project. The Project Planning Summary provides a detailed written description of your remodeling project, along with a fixed price. We’ll review it together to ensure every detail is included and you’re comfortable before signing a construction agreement.

Construction and Daily Communication

When the Construction Agreement is signed, Nate will apply for permits, order materials, and set the calendar by scheduling trade partners and a start date. On the first day of construction, we begin demolition. We start by preparing the parts of your home we will be working in and entering through with floor protection, installing dust barriers, and air filtration throughout. During construction, Nate will be there to answer your questions. In addition to updating you on the schedule, Nate notes anything that may affect your daily life at home. We keep young children, pets, and people who work from home in mind to help ease the disruption of remodeling. As work progresses, Nate keeps you updated. Should any unforeseen issues arise, he explains the situation and discusses possible solutions with you. No additional work is ever done without a conversation and the homeowner’s approval.

What’s Special About Working With Nate

Over twenty years of working on homes on the North Shore, along with an appreciation for the craftsmanship of vintage home builders, give Nate an affinity for viewing these homes with a master carpenter’s experience and a modern eye for design. Nate is a collaborative partner who works with homeowners to turn their ideas into beautiful and comfortable living spaces.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a multi-room remodel cost on the North Shore?

We establish clear expectations from the start. In the first conversation, Nate discusses realistic budget ranges and shares cost insights from similar recent projects to help you understand what your renovation is likely to require. Our goal is to avoid designing a space you love only to find that it falls outside your budget. By the end of the design process, you’ll know exactly what your project will cost.

Is there an advantage to combining multiple rooms into one project?

Combining rooms into a single project offers design, practical, and financial benefits: Nate plans both spaces as a single integrated scope, so materials, flow, and design decisions can be coordinated to feel cohesive rather than layered. For homeowners with older homes that need attention in multiple spaces, a single, well-planned multi-room project is often the more logical and cost-effective path.

What happens at project completion?

Nate does a final walk-through with the client. Rosalie Remodeling will schedule a professional photoshoot.
